Well Steve I took a try at tomatoes and frankly if you have a cycle timer, run it 45 minutes on 15 off for optimum growth, but otherwise you can run it full time. Just use regular nutrients on it and when you feel it needs a boost, get some higher grade nutes like FloraNova.
Tomatoes, I've found, have worked quite well in the Waterfarm for me and others, so if I were you I'd give it a try.
Good luck!

Thanks for your nice review of the waterfarm. I'm new to gradening and I'm using a waterfarm for my first project -- growing tomatoes. I've been able to find lots of useful info, but have not been able to find the most basic of issues -- how much should I water the tomato plant. Do you have any suggestions? If you do, I thank you in advance.

Glad to see you're still around.

We get colder winters here but even so I've got some garden stuff to do for next spring that I just can't seem to get motivated for either.

I hope everything's okay on your end. I know I haven't been keeping up on my blog but I'm hoping to get a lull between holidays and catch up the events of my little indoor gardening adventure.

Your Japanese maple looks Awesome for $13 here in Nashville they go for around $100 for that size. And yours is a Monrovia Product which is really good. I love Japanese maples and use them in my projects all the time. My home page is www.landscapenashville.com and I have a japanese maple page www.landscapenashville.com/japanese-maples.html
